Jenny, the creator of The Wheelin' Bobbin is a wife, mother, HR Professional, and a wheelchair user.
A Journey of Resilience
Jenny's path to creating The Wheelin Bobbin started as a teen. Jenny was injuried in a snowskiing accident in 1996 when she was just 16 years old. After sustaining a back injury that led to an incomplete spinal cord injury Jenny refused to let her disability define her limits. Instead, she embraced new challenges and opportunities, eventually being crowned Ms. Wheelchair Kansas in 2011. In addition to advocating for women in wheelchairs, Jenny has been a champion of adaptive sports by being involved in Wichita Adaptive Sports since moving to Wichita in 2001. During her time with WAS she has served many positions, including the current role of Board President and wheelchair basketball / team representative.
Leading by Example
As someone who has personally experienced the transformative power of being involved in the community, Jenny hopes to bring more awareness of the capabilities of indivdiauls with disabilities by showcasing her talents of creating sewing projects for her customers. Jenny hopes to continue to break down barriers and create new opportunities for people with disabilities.
